Trojan Defensive Back brags about illegal hit
For years we’ve been saying that the attitude at usc is “When it comes to winning Football games, anything goes, and the rules don’t apply to us.” Proving this, Sophomore trojan Cornerback Shareece Wright, who got penalized for a Personal Foul against Washington on Saturday, BASICALLY told the Press that the illegal hit was a premeditated attack, designed to slow down the Huskies’ QB. Wright was probably gushing with pride, as he explained how well the plan worked.
Washington Quarterback Jake Locker had been tearing up the League with his RUSHING ability. Wright said that while watching tapes, he noticed that Locker never slides or goes out of bounds to avoid a hit, like most QB’s do. Therefore, he decided to send Locker a message, by delivering an illegal blow to him. Wright said: “He was going to feel us.”
According to Wright, after Locker received the illegal hit, he was “sliding, ducking, he wasn’t trying to be a Running Back any more. That’s exactly what we needed.”
“Exactly what they needed?” An illegal hit to slow down an opponent who would otherwise get the best of them?
You trojans out there are probably completely supportive of this approach. Just like when Kobe is on another ridiculous hot streak, and getting to the hoop too easily, you HAVE to foul him hard to keep him from exploiting you. But this is a little different. A hard foul in Basketball is less Bush League than a Late Hit in Football.
And what makes it truly obnoxious: The need to GLORIFY it to the Press after the fact. You don’t go to the Media and talk about throwing brushback pitches, and ONLY A TROJAN would go pat himself on the back after trying to knock out a QB to help sc win a game.

To BEATSC: This is buzzdroid, the designer of the theme you are currently using.
As a life long Notre Dame fame, nothing in my WordPress theme development career makes me more proud than to see our theme on this site. Not only is this a fantastic adaptation of our theme, but you are putting the theme to good use.
Bad call by the REF. When Wright made contact, Locker was just stepping out of bounds. Great play by Wright. Intimidation is a part of sports and if Wright’s big hit worked, then so be it.
Hey Bruce — Can’t believe that you’re still coming around. You must be a masochist. But it’s nice to have you back, to prove the point: Trojans don’t care about the rules. Even though the hit was ABSOLUTELY late, and it WAS FLAGGED as illegal, you are still PROUD of it, because, even though illegal, it created intimidation, so it was worth it.
You epitomize the trojan mentality. Feel free to keep writing in, so that readers don’t think that we’re making this stuff up.

PAC-10 Refs are never wrong, are they? [Spencer Havner fumble recovery on Reggie Bush Fumble]
So you’re finally admitting that sc didn’t deserve that victory? It’s about time! But don’t worry, it looks like you’re about to FORFEIT that game anyway, along with a whole bunch more.
Besides, you’re missing the point — Wright said that he didn’t care that it WAS illegal, because it WORKED, in terms of intimidating the kid. Don’t you get it? Of course you don’t. The trojans can’t see it, but everyone on the outside can: sc doesn’t care about anything but winning, and they will do anything, illegal or not, to keep on winning. Too bad someone forgot to tell Stanford.
In reading Bruce’s asinine comments, you are absolutely right, trojan fans are all the same, BLIND!! or IGNORANT!! it’s typical of their fans, with the exception of 2 s.u.c. fans that I know, every one of them are fans in denial about everything, which includes o.j. simpson not being guilty.
When the NCAA slaps them with that penalty, it truly will be one of the happiest days of my life, I can’t wait. But their mentality trickles down from their arrogant stupid-ass coach, who NEVER gives credit to the other team. Against Washington he said afterwards “today the trojans beat the trojans” as if they were the only ones on the field. I was just waiting for him to say after the stanford game “today the trojans lost to the trojans”, what a dick, I can’t stand that man.
I hope Notre Dame beats their asses on Saturday. GO IRISH!!
WHEN SHAREECE SAID THAT HE NOTICED THAT LOCKER DIDNT SLIDE OR RUN OUT OF BOUNDS HE WASNT SAYING THAT HE WAS PLAINING ON HITTING LOCKER LATE. ALL HE MEANT WAS THAT HE DID NOT EXPECT HIM TO. HE WAS PLAYING FOOTBALL AND DID NOT WANT TO BE THE ONE WHO GOT HIT. HE WAS PROTECTING HIS SELF. HOW DO CAN YOU PLAN WHEN YOUR GOING TO HIT SOMEBODY DURING A GAME? YOU CANT. SH*T HAPPENS ITS FOOTBALL.
[t-h’s note: You may be correct, about the specific meaning of what he was trying to say with those words. However, that doesn’t negate the point of the article: That even though he got called for the penalty, and acknowledged that it was a late hit, he was still bragging about how the imtimidation factor of his illegal play was WORTH IT. Locker was gunshy after that, and was not the same QB. So even though the play that spooked Locker was illegal, Wright was proud of it, the inference being that he is now conditioned by positive reinforcement to repeat this illegal action, again and again. Do you understand how even if what you say is true, it doesn’t make our overall point UN-true?]
