It’s just a jump to the left: This past year has been a Rocky Horror for UCLA, but the Bruin Pic-Cheer Show remains a beloved Cult Classic
It’s astounding. Time is fleeting. (March) Madness… takes its toll. And so does cheering for bad teams. And Bruin fans have really been taxed lately, pulling for Drago, JA, Kevin Craft, Sheldon Price, and many other struggling players. Borrowing from a certain frog: Sometimes it isn’t easy being Blue (& Gold)…
But just when the Blues have you down, and things look bleak; When the odds are against you, the crew is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, the UCLA Spirit Squad appears and makes everything rainbows and lollipops, caviar dreams and marshmallow sky.
Below are 17 more Dance Team and Cheer Squad photos from Saturday. As always, the photos ENLARGE when you click on them. And, the photos all have mouse-over, hidden captions. Of course, even without pop-up captions, these photos truly speak for themselves.

I gotta say, after I read the post the other day and it sunk in that you-know-who would be gone soon, it hit me hard.
Awesome pictures though. They /all/ look stunning and do credit to UCLA.
Can it be that Rachel and Nikki could replace future legends Katie, Elise, Brianna, and MIchelle?
The Dance team always represent the school well. I hope that the retiring members will be replaced with equal caliber (and I’m sure they will be) talent. Ever since Whitney, Kylene, and Chelsey joined the squad earlier this decade, the UCLA Dance Team hasn’t looked back. We need to keep this domination. The Song Girls across town meanwhile have completely crumbled this decade.
Love your site and your articles . . . but would like to see more pictures of the Cheer Squad. They are an excellent representation of UCLA and deserve to be recognized.
[T-H’s Note: I agree wholeheartedly. However, “action” shots are always the best, and it’s hard to capture their tumbling and their acrobatic maneuvers on “film.” They usually come out blurry (or show something I’m not allowed to show!). I do have thousands of photos of them, though, and will try to include more of them in future pictorials. Thanks for bringing it up.]
