BACK IN BLUE

Sweet Home Pasadena — After two ugly road losses in those non-traditional all-white uniforms, the Bruins come home to the Rose Bowl for a blue-clad Homecoming match-up with supposedly weak Colorado

The Stanford trip was bad;  The Oregon game was worse.  Colorado should be better.  At least that’s what the UCLA brass was thinking, when they chose the Buffaloes to be the opponent for Homecoming.  On paper, Colorado should be an easy mark, which is exactly what you want for Homecoming.  The Bruins are favored by 4 Touchdowns.  But as you know, that sets the stage for complacency, so anything can happen.  The Bruins are beat up physically and emotionally, after enduring back-to-back defeats that ended their hopes for BCS supremacy.  So as Admiral Akbar says every day in his over-used Star Wars meme:  “It’s a trap.”

However… this should be one trap that doesn’t ensnare the Bruins.  I expect Brett Hundley to snap out of his personal slump, and lead the Offense to a high-scoring W against the over-matched Buffs, with the Defense pitching another second half shutout.  I would be surprised if the game’s outcome is in doubt after the 3rd quarter.

But you won’t see me leaving early — As long as the UCLA Spirit Squad is still in the stadium, I will be too.  Here are the final 30 Cheerleader shots from the previous home game, against Cal.  Actually, I have 100 more that I was gonna post from that game, but I will now save them for another time, since tomorrow will provide another batch of outstanding pics that will scream out to be shared first.
