JACK OF ALL TRADES

colo13fb (206)bUCLA Linebacker Myles Jack wins Pac-12 Offensive Player Of The Week honors, for his dominating debut at Running Back, where he gained 120 yards and scored the game-winning points on a 66-yard Touchdown run

UCLA’s Basketball team looked good last night, beating Oakland by 31 points, 91-60, but Bruins fans aren’t talking about that.  In Travis Wear’s absence, Center Tony Parker notched a double-double, with 21 points and 12 rebounds — but that’s not the double-up that Bruin fans are buzzing about.  Guard Norman Powell had a highlight-reel tomahawk dunk off an inbounds pass, but the only slam dunk Bruin fans are thinking about is the certainty that Myles Jack will definitely reprise his role as a Running Back, continuing to perform double(-double) duty as a Linebacker and Ballcarrier.

Myles Jack’s surprising turn at Running Back last Saturday in Arizona was so successful, that everyone is calling for Head Coach Jim Mora to turn over the starting Tailback job to Jack.  Jack’s unique combination of power, speed, and natural instinct make him a shoo-in to get another chance on Offense, even as former starter Jordon James returns from injury.  James at 100% might not have been able to pull off what Jack did on Saturday.  Some people think the stronger Malcolm Jones could have, but for reasons unknown, Jones was hot heard from on Saturday.  So with Damien Thigpen and Steven Manfro still not back to 100%, if Jack doesn’t get some handoffs against Washington on Friday night, there will be rioting in Westwood, especially if the Bruins lose.

Jack’s athleticism is SO off the charts, UCLA Head Basketball Coach Steve Alford may try to borrow him for some hoops action too.  After that, Mollie may recruit him to the Cheer Squad as well.  Speaking of Cheer, here are 33 more photos of the UCLA Spirit Squad, from the Colorado game.
