I GET NO KICK FROM SHAM’S PAIN (EVEN WHEN THE FIBBER BREAKS A FIBULA)

Karma & Reg:  Reggie Bush’s muff leads to a broken leg and six weeks of rehab, in what many are calling an act of Karma — but six weeks of muffs would have been better

I don’t like to see Reggie Bush get hurt.  I don’t like to see anyone get hurt, physically.  I prefer emotional hurt, for people who have it coming.  Maybe O.J. deserves a physical jolt of electricity, but Reggie just deserves the scorn of society, and maybe some hard time for tax eveasion — but not a broken leg.

Rooting for injuries is more of an East Coast, Booing Santa Clause thing.  Sure, I like to see bad people suffer, but I would much prefer Reggie suffer a series of fumbles and penalties than suffer an injury.  I rather see his ego bruised, rather than his flesh.  Physical torment is the domain of the ignorant, arrogant bully type — The people who have to resort to violence, because they always lose the battle of wits.  The kids like that from my youth were always trojan fans, and most of them ended up going to sc, if they could afford it.

So NO, I did not celebrate when Reggie Bush muffed a punt on Monday night, and got his fibula shattered during the scramble for the loose ball.  How can he choke away a game if he’s in the Hospital?  I much rather have him on the field, hurting the Saints, instead of getting hurt himself.  A Drug or Steroid Bust, or some other SCandal that got him suspended for six games, would also be much preferred to an injury.

As for the incident being “Karma,” the law of averages says that eventually all his good luck (in escaping punishment) would eventually catch up with him, with a bad thing happening to balance out the scales.  Call it poetic justice if you want, but if Karma is such a positive force, it would have made him suck on the field, not sulk on the sidelines.

Speaking of sidelines, here are 14 more UCLA Cheerleader photos from this past Saturday’s contest, or as the Bruin Football team calls it:  The first game of the season.

Completely agree with you! Sanctions are better than a broken leg.
