What a Country! Happy 4th of July to Bruin-Americans
Usually, when the word “Banner” appears on these pages, it’s referring to the imminent NCAA Championship Banner that Ben Howland is about to deliver to Westwood. But today, it also refers to Old Glory, as in the Star-Spangled variety of Banner.
Today is Independence Day — A day to celebrate America, and to celebrate what it means to be an American. Even people who hate the current Government will join the celebration this year, since they think they see the light at the end of the tunnel, and no longer need to hide their pride.
That amounts to a whole lot of Barbecue-ing today, in pretty intense heat for you locals. So use liberal amounts of sunblock, and make sure to continuously re-hydrate, 12 ounces at a time.
