Bruin great Jonathan Ogden — the Baltimore Ravens’ first-ever draft pick — becomes the first Raven to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame
There was never any doubt. Back in the mid-90’s when Jonathan Ogden was playing Offensive Tackle for UCLA, everyone who ever saw him dominate a line of scrimmage KNEW that one day he would be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame… and yesterday, that day finally came. The 11-time Pro Bowler made it in his first year of eligibility of course, and on Saturday, he was presented by Ozzie Newsome — who drafted him in the first round in 1996 — to the Canton crowd.
Ogden exhibited his UCLA education nicely, with an eloquent speech, thanking family members and his Baltimore fans. He also mentioned THE GREAT SCHOOLS that he had the privilege of attending. He concluded by saying that he was humbled by being the first Raven in History to make the Hall. Jonathan was funny, engaging, and anything-but-arrogant, as he showed the Football World what Bruin Class is all about.
