Smith-Schuster squanders Steelers’ shoo-in status — Ex-trojan Juju Smith-Schuster fumbles away a game that could cost Pittsburgh the Playoffs
The Steelers were in position on Sunday to make the NFL Playoffs, until former u$c Wide Receiver Juju Smith-Schuster fumbled the ball away, clinching the game for New Orleans. The loss means that for the Steelers to make the Playoffs now, they’ll need the Ravens to lose at Home to Cleveland. It’s possible, but Baltimore is favored by 5 1/2 points. The Browns are 2-5 on the road, and have already lost to the Ravens AT Cleveland this season.
Juju has had a great year this season, but if the mighty Steelers miss the Playoffs, it’s all for naught. Juju is an excellent athlete, but his numbers are through the roof for ONE reason: He plays opposite the BEST Receiver in the NFL — Antonio Brown. Opposing Defenses have no choice but to key on Brown, so Smith-Schuster almost NEVER faces a foe’s best Cornerback, or double coverage. That allows him to run free in the secondary, where Ben Roethlisberger can always find him. But if the Browns don’t pull off the upset this weekend (AND if Tennessee and Indianapolis don’t TIE), Juju and Big Ben will be watching the Postseason on TV with the rest of us.
Here are some photos to help Juju ease the pain of choking…
